In 1988, Mike drove to California to realize his lifelong dream: reuniting and meeting the cast of "Alice". Mike once reflected on the journey, "That trip was truly an uplifting experience. Vic Tayback, God rest his soul, was a joy to be with. In fact, he hosted me at his home. I remember my last night there as if it were yesterday. Vic cooked me a lovely dinner of chili. We spent the fleeting hours of the evening by the pool, Miami Sound Machine blasting in the background as we did shooters of tequilla and chased each other around the pool playing grab-ass until the police showed up."
